I push a button
I push a button. A garage door opens. I drive my car in. I push a button. The door closes. My home swallows me like a giant monster. I don't see my neighbors; they don't see me. How can I love my neighbor if I don't see my neighbor? I ponder this within the belly of my house, safe from the world. I push a button. The computer shuts down. I push a button. The door opens. I go outside.

I still have a garage door that has to be locked by hand, so I have to get out of the car, walk around, pull the door down, and lock it. And usually somebody will come walking down the street while I'm doing all this, and we'll say hi.
And a person could push a few buttons on the phone or computer and invite a neighbor over for dinner, too.
