Ghostbusters Video Game: Resurrecting a Franchise?

Those of you familiar with the history of movies that become video games (or vice versa) know that disasters are prevalent in this realm. Anyone remember E.T. for the Atari 2600/VCS?

Following a few years of speculation it looks as though a high quality Ghostbusters video game is due out later this year, courtesy of Atari.

Ars Technica has an interesting article about the Ghostbusters video game saga. I, for one, would enjoy some high-definition proton pack action. For those squeamish about the paranormal, see my review of The Truth Behind Ghosts, Mediums, and Psychic Phenomena.

By the way, 2009 will mark the 25th anniversary of the Ghostbusters film (released June 8, 1984).

Just out of curiosity, do you support the Ghostbusters films or not? I'd just like to know for sure.

Your question is too simplistic, suggesting an either/or dichotomy of "support" and, presumably, "reject" the movies. Most issues are more nuanced than that. I enjoy the movies as entertaining fantasies, but certainly not as resources for theological or spiritual truth.

So are you saying that you appreciate them as creative entertainment, but don't really agree with the filmmaker's viewpoints? That's pretty much what I meant.

Yes, essentially.
