A Look at Energy-based Alternative Medicine
Here's a link to an article I wrote about energy-based alternative medicine.
Also note that a book I coauthored, Examining Alternative Medicine (InterVarsity, 2001), is available as a free download.
The book received some fine reviews, but eventually went out of print. Here are some of the reviewer comments we received:
"I'm grateful for a new book from InterVarsity Press, Examining Alternative Medicine: An Inside Look at the Benefits & Risks. The authors do with their assignment what we at WORLD try to do each week with our journalistic task. They have a point of view--but they exhibit fairness while pursuing it ... This book's analysis should help Christians everywhere sort out a troubling trend in American health care. The approach is trustworthy and illuminating." Joel Belz, WORLD magazine, September 8, 2001
"This book offers an in-depth look at the philosophies, worldviews and spiritual connections of today's alternative therapies ... provides an excellent summary of the alternative therapy movement." Journal of Christian Nursing, Volume 18, Number 4
"[T]he book's rhetoric is not inflammatory or alarmist but fair and even-handed. The volume is widely researched, both demographically and with regard to scientific data on alternative medicine ..." Religious Studies Review, Volume 28, Number 3 (July 2002)
"The authors are knowledgeable teachers and provide history, context, and explanations of alternative practices and theories, along with thoughtful observations and challenges ... Examining Alternative Medicine is a very welcome addition to consumer health literature." Christian Research Journal, Vol. 26, No. 3, 2003
