February 9, 1942 saw the publication of the first edition of The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Having appeared in a weekly Anglican newspaper prior to its book form, The Screwtape Letters features the diabolical correspondence from a senior devil, Screwtape, to his nephew Wormwood.Note that my book Inside The Screwtape Letters (Baker Books) is done, but on hold until we hear more about the release date of a Screwtape movie that is supposedly in the works. Until then you are welcome to read my book Conversations with C.S. Lewis. It features a Screwtape-inspired dialogue with a devil named Flubgose.
